Half way point and still more to come

Half way through the year and we've got some excellent games on the way which we've just added. Also we've had over 12,000 visitors last month, 8,000 in June and May was a respectable 6,000. August 2006 we had just over 2,000 visitors, now this month so far we've had over 3,000.

2007 Already

Is it 2007 already! To mark the occasion I have started the 2007 list. I know things are a bit stale site wise at the moment. Hopefully I'll get myself a laptop soon so I'll be able to work on TCY more often. Thanks to everyone stopping by the forum and sending feedback of encouragement! Did you know we had 6,000 vistis last month and we've had over 1,000 this month to date!

Forums

Throughout the last month we've seen alot of people visiting the site, alot more than expected. Probably the majority of vistor were interested in cooperative play. So I've fianlly decided to set up a forum. Currently the forum is located off site at: http://thecoopyears.proboards56.com/index.cgi. When this site is rebuilt I intend to have one built in. There aren't that many coop dedicated forums so please join in and maybe our opinions will be taken notice of! There are other coop forums you could join as well or instead, they are on coopgame.com and coop-network.de (in German).

RIP: Commandos: Strike Force COOP

Have received confirmation from Pyro Studios that this game will not contain a cooperative mode. "Unfortunately CSF does not support cooperative play. It will support multiplayer with deathmatch, team deathmatch and sabotage (an exclusive multiplayer mode) but no cooperative." Although this is a shame we hope that the game anyway will keep the quality of the previous games in the series.

RSS Ago, Go

As previous noted I've been working on our RSS feed, and it is now live. It is so easy to implement I don't really know why it took me this long to pay it any attention! You'll also see on various pages a random ebay listing search. I'm still trialing this, so would appreciate feedback if you think its useful or not. I hoping to get some more showcases up soon and also I'm thinking of setting up a COOP game ideas article series. This is not game ideas as in the story, this will be for how to implement COOP. I had two emails from people within the industry this week, both hinting that it is better for COOP to be implemented at a design stage. So I figure that if we do the thinking for them, anyone wanting some inspiration could browse through and benefit us all. Send us some feedback if you have an opionion.

Extension Building!

As some of you have been aware, I've been working on lists for both COOP mods and games prior to 2003. Both lists, ( though not complete by any means ) I think are in a sizeable condition to put online. I hope you enjoy looking through these. You may have noticed the link to search on ebay and amazon (.co.uk only at the moment). I've tried to aim for a win win advertising model. Whereby I can benefit you by offering links to something relevant and if you choose to use that link I benefit through my affiliation with these companies. Next on my todo list, RSS!

Discovery!

In the last couple of weeks I have been trying out different search engines to see if I could uncover any hidden COOP gems. I was particularly impressed with Microsoft search engine, it was fast and the results were more relevant. Yahoo was also a lot better than I remembered it to be. I didn't actually find anything exceptionally new though. Another month gone, thanks to everyone who sent feedback! Things are a bit busy at the moment; however I'm currently working on a list of COOP mods. So, check back sometime later this month and hopefully I should have it up.
