About
This web site is all about the promotion and awareness of COOP gameplay. Sadly this seems to be a highly neglected area of game developing. See below for more information regarding this site. Here at The COOP Years we think its important for users who use this site to know where we are intending to go with it.
FAQ
Question: The idea behind the site.
Answer: Ever tried to find a new COOP game to play? Try typing "Cooperative PC Game" into Google. You'll have to really dig if you want to find anything other than the common COOP games. So, we grew tired of waiting for someone to setup a site like this, so we made one. The idea behind the site is mainly to provide a browseable reference library of COOP games within a certain year spans.
Question: Game Cards?
Answer: When you browse the game years you'll see that each game is in its own block, we call this the game card. Splitting the information up this way was a good way of making the years browseable without tiring your eyes with monotonous text. You'll also notice at the top of every page there is a screenshot of one of the featured games. This screenshot changes to a random game whenever you change or refresh the page. Notice, in the top right corner of the screenshot you'll find a link to the game card of that particular game!
Question: Why The Coop Years?
Answer: As the main theme is to have a list of COOP games by year, the name wrote itself. We pondered on this name for sometime, but it really stuck out that it had more character and meaning than other ideas. Other ideas included: COOPplanet, COOPgames, COOPgamer(already taken) and we even thought of The Chickens COOP. The only draw back with "The COOP Years" is that in the address bar you could read it as: The Coopy Ears!
Question: Have you really played all these games?
Answer: Basically, no. Thats why we have put a confirmed field on the game card. This should show which are definite COOP. We don't have the time or money to play all the games, plus we'd probably start pulling our hair out with the bad ones. For example, one game that we won't mention, we lost one hour of our lives trying to get the demo working. Now, who's going to give us that back!
